Toasted Pecans

This morning I decided to try a new recipe, Cardamom and Rosemary Toasted Nuts, by Tabitha Paculba from Welljourn.org. When I first saw the recipe I knew right away that this was something that I would like. However, I didn't think the toasted nuts would be this good. They are addictive like a bag of chips; once you try one, you can't stop until they are gone...or until your tummy is full.

The recipe calls for Maple syrup, but I used honey instead. Another substitution that I made was dried rosemary instead of fresh.

And at first I wasn't too sure about the amount of cardamom that the recipe calls for as I hardly ever use it in cooking. Normally I only buy the pods or seeds and use them in tea. But I followed the recipe, and to my surprise, the cardamom tasted great!

The recipe was quick and easy to make. And in addition to having a tasty and healthy snack, the whole house was filled with a sweet, spicy aroma.

Tropical-Kale Stuffed Avocados

Kale and pineapple go very well together and the creator of this recipe has done a fabulous job at combining the two into a raw food dish. It has the sweet and sour that makes just about any dish tasty. The recipe also calls for coconut oil, which I would have never thought to use in a dish like this, but it turned out very good.

Although it is a recipe for stuffed avocados, I decided to make it into a salad by dicing the avocados and tossing them with the rest of the ingredients. It is definitely a dish I will make over and over again.

The recipe is from UnCooking101, and you can find it here. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

My Jing City Recipe

Jing City is a powerful superfood powder mix created by Truth Calkins. He is one of the leading experts in the raw food community, and he has created this powder to help combat fatigue and mental unclarity. The drink is extremely powerful and goes to work immediately after you consume it. It can literally knock you out if you take it too strong. Therefore, Truth recommends that you take it at the half dose if you are not used to it.

There are several recipes available at the LongevityWarehouse, where you can buy the mix. However, you can drink it plain, or create your own way of drinking it.

Currently I am enjoying it with the following ingredients:

1 cup hot tea, such as holy basil, passionflower or green tea.
1/4 cup of fresh nut milk.
3 tbsp. Jing City
1 tbsp. of coconut oil
1 tbsp. or less black strap mollases

Although the drink is tasty, the powder itself does not smell good at all. When I first opened the bag I wanted to throw it out. But because I paid such a high price for it, I made myself try it, and to my surprise I loved it. It is a great way to start my day and keeps me energized throughout the day.

Although the mix is expensive, the benefits of it far outweigh the high price. To purchase it, simply visit this page.

Ways to Consume Garlic for Parasites

There are many ways to consume garlic for parasites, which includes in smoothies, dressings, salads and in tea. Most people cringe when they think about the miracle herb as it not only has a pungent taste, but it also leaves the individual with a strong and undesirable garlic breath.

Regardless of the undesirables, garlic is one of the cheapest and most effective natural remedies against a large variety of parasites. And what is even better is that garlic does not have to taste that bad when combined with the right foods. As a matter of fact, it is actually pretty good when added into every dishes in moderate amounts.

Garlic is available year round in the produce section of the grocery store. It comes in a bulb that consists of numerous cloves, which can easily be broken apart as needed. Each clove contains a thin dry film that can be removed with a knife or peeled away with the fingernails. The garlic clove can then be used whole, chopped up or minced, and added to a variety of foods.

Green Smoothies

Garlic can be added to a variety of green smoothies with fresh lemon juice, cucumbers, lettuce and other greens. One clove is all that is needed in order to spice up a large smoothie.

Green smoothies can be mixed up with fresh fruits, however, when it comes to a parasite remedy, the sweet fruits, such as bananas, apples and peaches should be avoided due to their high sugar content.

Avocado

Avocados are high in fat and generally do not have much flavor in them. Therefore, they are suitable for mixing with chopped garlic in order to help eliminate the sting from the garlic. Other herbs and spices can be added as well in order to distract from the garlic flavor.

Salad Dressing

Adding a fresh clove of garlic to a salad dressing is a great way to add some kick to the salad, while at the same time avoiding the strong taste of it. The garlic can be combined with some sea salt, lemon juice, olive oil, and half of an English cucumber or a tomato for a dressing suitable for a wide variety of salads.

Tea

Garlic tea is not the tastiest tea on the planet, and I would much rather consume whole garlic than to drink the tea. However, there might be some who would rather drink the tea. To make the tea, the garlic can be finely chopped and put into a tea ball along with other herbs or spices. Grated ginger is a suitable partner, which goes well with cloves, cinnamon and a variety of other herbs and spices. The garlic tea can also be lightly sweetened with a natural sweetener, such as raw honey.

In order for garlic to be effective against parasites, it should be consumed along with other anti-parasitical foods and spices, such as cucumbers, tomatoes, pumpkins seeds, cloves, ginger and coconut oil. At the same time, foods that feed the parasites should be avoided.

Matcha Latte

Matcha is a green Japanese tea that comes in a powdered form. It is fairly expensive, but it is one of the best foods for antioxidants, which help to fight against free radicals. According to research matcha contains more antioxidants than goji berries, pomegranate and cranberries.

Not only is matcha high in antioxidants, but it is also helpful against parasites, cancer and can dramatically improve mental clarity. You can add matcha tea to a variety of foods including yogurt, smoothies and also make a green tea or latte. If you are not used to the greens, then you might not like the taste of matcha, but after a few tries you will begin to like it. You can always start off  with a 1/4 tsp. to 1 cup and work your way up.

Here is a Matcha latte recipe made with almond nut milk. It is a rich and creamy drink to get a high amount of antioxidants into your body. The recipe also calls for coconut oil, which is also linked to a variety of health benefits, such as reduce cholesterol, improve brain health, and helps to eliminate parasites. You can enjoy the matcha either hot or cold as you desire.

Stuffed Grape Leaves

When I came across this recipe for rice stuffed grape leaves dolmas I knew that I had to try them. At first I wasn't sure if I would be able to find the grape leaves because I had never heard that you could eat them. But I managed to find them at an Asian supermarket, pickled and in a large jar.

The grape leaves smelled like grapes when I opened the jar and somewhat tasted like them too. I don't know whether this is really how they taste, or if it was the sauce that they were in. Nonetheless, they tasted great.

Rice is one of my favorite foods, and after preparing it I was tempted to eat it as it was. But I had already bought the grape leaves and so I went ahead and prepared the recipe as instructed and it turned out really well. It was really filling too.

I have lots of grape leaves left over, so I will be making this again in the near future. Here is the link to the recipe.

Summer Salad With Avocado and Corn

Salads are one of my favorite foods because they are low in calories and high in nutrients. And best of all, you can add just about any ingredient to make them just as tasty as any other dish. Commercially packaged salad dressings work well, but they contain a ton of ingredients that we really should not be putting into our bodies. So I always look for natural ways of sprucing up a salad in order to avoid harmful ingredients.

This Avocado and Corn Summer Salad is one of those salads that uses natural ingredients and yet has all the flavor. Everything in the recipe is raw, except for the corn. But if you can get non-GMO and organic corn then you could easily use raw corn as well.

I love how the flavors all blend together in the recipe and the overall flavor is somewhat of a sweet and sour taste, which is due to the lemon and corn. I did not have the garlic salt and added the sea salt as recommended as a substitute and it turned out great. Click Here for the recipe.
